Deputy Auditor General and Director of Audit Operations

Laura J. Hirst, CPA, was appointed Deputy Auditor General and Director of Audit Operations effective August 2014. Prior to her appointment, Ms. Hirst held a variety of positions with in the Office of the Auditor General, most recently as an Audit Division Administrator responsible for both financial and performance audits of various State agencies.

Ms. Hirst is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Government Accountants. Ms. Hirst has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Michigan State University.
